Signs of economic downfall
Wired magazine of this January comprises of 136 pages against 236 pages for the Dec 2008 issue. The latter features 120 pages with advertisements and the counter for January stops at 41. Holiday season or credit crunch?

Canyon wilderness of the South West
Buying books is getting cheaper by the day now the English pound has thumbled down. I bought this book from amazon.co.uk. We met the photographer two years ago while he and his wife were taking pictures for the book.

Having travelled through the south of Utah myself, I can say that this book shows you the best of places like Bryce Canyon, Canyon lands, Zion, Arches and Grand Canyon. The author has managed to show the reader lots of places that are off the beaten track and each and every photo is of an exceptional quality. Prepare yourself for re-scheduling your summer vacation after reading this book.
As a bonus, my copy of the book came with a numbered print of a limited series (6000) of Antelope Canyon.

Start of a drumming career
The Experience Music Project (EMP) is (for me) one of the highlights of Seattle. Located in the Seattle Centre, this weird building by Frank Gehry hosts an 'experience' around pop music. Next to Boeing, Microsoft and Starbucks, Seattle is the home of Jimi Hendrix, Heart and Nirvana.

Skip the coffee, Red Bull and Coke!
... and just take the caffeine. I haven't been in a bar for some time so I was surprised to see vending machines carrying caffeine strips.
